Representatives of 15 agencies from 11 different African countries as well as the hands-on staff of regional offices attended the council which the foundation held for the first time. The objective was to increase awareness of the identies of representatives as well as to improve the sense of belonging, and to strengthen professional competency in international cooperation projects by enhancing the understanding of disability – inclusive development.

The council consisted of lectures from each representative including Executive Director Heong-Suck Cheong, International Development Cooperation Committee Head Hyeon-Man Jeong, and Daeyang College of Nursing in Malawi President Su-Sie Kim, as well as discussions on the field of international development and cooperation. Through this event, our foundation was able to share major project issues of each country, and discuss the strategies and direction that these projects should take in the future.

“We were able to share the ‘Independent Welfare for the disabled’ trend of international cooperation through this time”, Foundation Executive Director Heong-Suck Cheong stated. “As the old saying ‘cooperate to achieve the line’ tells us, I hope that our foundation and the representatives of each country will work together to achieve that line.”
