Prof. Hyung Shik Kim, a Member of UN CRPD,

Appointed to Expert Adviser of Miral Welfare Foundation

     There was an appointment ceremony of expert adviser, prof. Hyung Shik Kim who is the member of UN CRPD(Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities) and the professor of KUIS(Korea University of International Studies) on Monday of June 30th. Prof. Hyung Shik Kim, who is an expert of disability inclusive development cooperation, had proven his capability after being re-elected twice with positive evaluations from 89 nations among 142 nations at 2015-2018 CRPD election that was held at the UN headquarters on the 10th of May. 

     The appointment ceremony that started with welcome greetings of Hyung Suk Jung, Executive Director of Miral Welfare Foundation, was proceeded with Ki min Lee, Director of Miral Welfare Foundation, and the employees of Miral Welfare Foundation attended. There was a presentation by prof. Hyung Shik Kim about ‘Globalization strategy of international cooperation projects of Miral Welfare Foundation’ at the appointment ceremony. During his presentation, prof. Hyung Shik Kim mentioned that the `global Miral strategy` would be based on a combination of international projects, creative partnership, and model application of international cooperation. These will be important implications for directivity of international cooperation projects and long-term strategic setup of Miral Welfare Foundation. 

     Prof. Hyung Shik Kim, who is appointed to expert adviser, will participate in educational activities and consultation for globalization of international cooperation projects with Miral Welfare Foundation for two years, from the 1st of July, 2014 to the 30th of June, 2016.

     Yu Ri Lee, the head of international cooperation team, said "I hope that international projects of Miral Welfare Foundation develop to disability inclusive development cooperation and grow as an international specialized organization for persons with disabilities." 

     Having worked hard for promotion of welfare and social unification of persons with disabilities for 20 years, Miral Welfare Foundation will do our best for improving competence and promoting human rights of persons with disabilities in developing countries with prof. Hyung Shik Kim’s speciality in international area.
