`Opportunity instead of donation`

Goodwill store Songpa branch

We visited Miral Welfare Foundation Goodwill store Songpa branch, the representative model of creating jobs for persons with disabilities with the slogan `Opportunity instead of donation`. We visited due to the preparation for the ‘Harmony` on CBS as a part of a disability awareness campaign. ‘Harmony’ will be on air on April celebrating the month of persons with disabilities and a fund raising program.

The Goodwill store sells from the donated second-hand products to daily supplies. It opened on the April of 2011 to create job opportunities for the persons with disabilities with cooperation with Goodwill, which has 100years of history as a social corporation in U. S. A. The job is divided into sales and distribution of goods and systematic education and activity is being implemented.

Seuong Hyun Yoon, who is currently working on clothes section, used to work a subway quick service deliveryman. But he was fired in three days just because he was slow. He said, "Sometimes the relationship with people is difficult, but I am happy to learn new professional vocabulary. And I am happy to have the job."

Si young Yoo, who makes coffee in `The cafe` located in the store, also said "I had to work for 24 hours in the fast food store alone but It`s nice to work with the other people and the scent of the coffee is so nice."

Miral Welfare Foundation Goodwill store Songpa branch presents that providing jobs is more effective than donating. Hopefully there will be lots of things to celebrate in the store as the birthday celebration bulletin board and hope that we can make a society where people care for each other and live happily all together.
